The Abu Dhabi Vegetable oil Company held a ceremony today at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi where the management received both HACCP and ISO certificates which were awarded by Bureau Veritas.

These certificates were awarded as a result of the company implementing a series of improvements to the plant, the practices, procedures and systems over a number of months and meeting and exceeding the required standards laid down by the auditors.

At the ceremony a presentation was made by the management outlining the remarkable growth of the company over the past five years.

Between 2000 and 2005 the company has grown five fold and in 2006 there has  been a further dramatic increase. The company has already surged past the achievement of 2005 after only 6 months and remains on track to attain between 80 to 100,000 tons this year which represents a near 200% growth year on year.  The growth we have witnessed has been driven mostly by sunflower oil and corn oil led by our premium Coroli brand.

Our growth has come mainly from within the GCC and has been helped by significant sales through Kuwait to Iraq.

Advoc continues to expand operations and more than 80% of our output is exported. Iraq remains a major destination although exports there have slowed recently due to the security situation in the country. In addition to  GCC countries Advoc also exports to Yemen, Pakistan, Sudan, Levantine and more recently has added Australia and Mauritius to the growing list of destinations.

In order to cope with this major surge in sales we have installed a new high speed filling line and made other improvements to our refinery which will allow us to further  increase our filling capacity by at least 50,000 tons in the next 12 months.

Our rationale behind installing the new filling and refining capacity at the plant is to meet the growing demand for our new Coroli brands and packs.
