Abu Dhabi City Municipality: The Abu Dhabi City Municipality is coordinating with Abu Dhabi General Services Company “Musanada” in the construction of two infrastructure projects at Al Rahba city in Abu Dhabi, and all construction works are scheduled for completion this year.

The construction of these two projects at Al Rahba is part of the strategic plans of the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities aimed at improving the infrastructure of Abu Dhabi city and suburban areas. The plans are focused on cities experiencing rising growth rates; which is in line with Abu Dhabi Government’s vision for enhancing the sustainability in the construction of modern infrastructure to ensure their compliance with the highest international standards.

Through these two projects, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality intends to establish an ideal platform that helps to stimulate population and economic growth and provide service amenities that meet the essential needs of residents and service residential plots at Al Rahba city. The development and improvement of infrastructure in Abu Dhabi demonstrate the commitment of Abu Dhabi City Municipality to serving the needs of development in emerging cities such as having an infrastructure compatible with the population & economic growth of the city.

Works in the two projects, at a cost of AED 452m, are progressing at a steady pace and all works are expected to complete in this year 2018. After the completion of the two projects, the area will be a perfect place for living & stability as it will have the services needed for the comfort and happiness of residents.

Components

Works of the two projects comprise the construction of internal roads network including landfill and levelling to comply with the pre-design level to serve the basic purpose of this residential project. The projects work also includes the relocation of some infrastructure services such as power lines, small sub-stations and sewage & drinking water networks.

Geographically, the two projects are being built at Al Rahba city, 30 km from Abu Dhabi International Airport. The first project serves 519 residential land plots. Works of this project include the construction of internal roads and infrastructure of Al Rahba city. In detail, works cover roads network and 29 power substations, power networks, drinking water lines, firefighting nozzles, sewage and rainwater drainage networks. The Project cost amounts to AED 160m, and all works had been completed in the second quarter of 2017.

The second project, at a cost of AED 292m, will serve 671 residential plots. The project works include internal roads, rainwater, drainage & drinking water networks, extension of power cables, 36 power substations, sewage network including a main drainage line and a sewage station, all expected to be completed in June 2018

Under the same framework, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality and “Musanada” are firmly committed to the requirements of environmental sustainability and the conservation of resources during the construction of the two projects at the highest international standards. The two parties were guided by the sustainability criteria from the designing stage, through the selection of equipment and raw materials and up to the delivery stage, to step up the efficiency and conservation in using multiple renewable energy resources. Every attention was give to complying with the safety and security procedures in line with the conditions of Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Manual.
