Abu Dhabi, UAE, January 30, 2012 - Arabian Construction Co. (ACC) has been awarded the $90 million contract to covert the historic Nile Hilton into The Nile Ritz-Carlton hotel. The renovation project includes interior finishing and mechanical electrical and plumbing (MEP) scheduled to be completed in 18 months.

Built in 1959, the 370-room landmark - located along the shores of the Nile and surrounded by bustling downtown Cairo - is undergoing extensive renovation of its facilities in order to re-emerge as a full-fledged Ritz-Carlton. The project will include modernising the 13-story hotel - owned by Misr Hotels, a subsidiary of The Holding Company for Tourism, Hotels and Cinema - that spans 64,000 square metres.

ACC will be responsible for the interior cladding and finishing of all facilities, rooms and the hotel casino. US-based Hill International is the project manager.

Operating in the UAE since 1968, ACC is credited with some of the most luxurious towers across the Middle East including Emirates Palace Hotel, Almas Tower, Princess Tower, Pentominium, Sky Towers, Etihad Towers and the Rotana Hotel Tower Amman, the tallest building in Jordan.
