Range of unique features allows passengers to customise their travel experience through the airport according to their personal flight details

27 July  2011, Abu Dhabi, UAE: Abu Dhabi International Airport today launched its new website, www.abudhabiairport.ae, introducing a range of innovative features, designed to enhance the entire travel experience for business and leisure travellers.

The new website includes a unique feature through the "Passenger Guide" tab, allowing passengers to obtain information with regards to their airport experience according to their personal flight details. Passengers can simply enter their flight details to receive useful information, such as locating the nearest retail shops, restaurants, banks, and ATMs to the departure gate of the specific flight. The feature also conveys transfer information and useful information for the particular passenger.

The upgraded real-time arrivals and departures information, allows flight status updates that can be received for free via sms and e-mail for any last minute changes, while the new timetable system presents direct and indirect flights options to more than 80 destinations around the world.  Through the new website, passengers can now conveniently make parking, lounge and airport hotel bookings by a click of a button.

A section of the website focuses on Abu Dhabi including general information on the Emirate, a brief tourist guide for Abu Dhabi, as well as links to the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority website for trip planning purposes such as hotel bookings and the events calendar.

Eng. Ahmed Al Haddabi, Senior Vice President at Abu Dhabi Airports Company, explained:

"As an international airport, we are constantly striving to develop and enhance our services to ensure travellers enjoy a stress-free experience. Our new website will allow for the travel journey to begin online from any location.  We have conducted extensive research to find out what our passengers need, and our goal was to meet these demands with a modern, creative, simple, interactive and informative website. "

"We are very excited to launch our technologically advanced yet simple to navigate website, offering real time flight details, flight schedules, online booking and other travel-related information to make the airport experience easier for every traveller" he added.

Some of the newly added features also include spotlight images to promote events and services, plus clear details of airport services such as shops, duty free and food and beverage offerings that can be easily located through the interactive maps and user-friendly search engines.
