Five-month long 'Men's Night Out Order of Merit' offers five-day South Africa golfing getaway

Abu Dhabi, UAE.  10th April, 2008:  Abu Dhabi Golf Club, the home of the annual, European PGA Tour sanctioned Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, this week launches its revised 'Men's Night Out' programme - the club's premier weekly social event.

Featuring 4:00PM shotgun starts, the revamped 'Men's Night Out' will involve a weekly nine hole showdown on the National Course's holes 19 to 27, also known as 'The Garden.' 

Running from Wednesday 9th April - Wednesday 27th August, 2008, the open-to-all 'Men's Night Out' now incorporates a traditional Order of Merit format, with the top three ranking competitors winning a five-day, 72-hole golfing getaway at some of the South Africa's most prestigious courses.

With normal handicap scoring applying, the weekly 'Men's Night Out' winner will receive ten Order of Merit points, with all competitors receiving one point per played event. 

Weekly prizes will also be on offer and in the spirit of former 'Men's Night Out' editions, a giant 'Rubber Wedge' prize will be given to the worst shot or outfit of the day.

"This new 'Order of Merit' format will breath fresh life into our flagship weekly event and with the grand prize offering rounds of golf at illustrious South African courses such as Kleinezalza, Fancourt and Cape Royale, the competition should be intense right through to the end of summer."

The Grand Prize comes courtesy of South Arica Travel Services, in association with Fancourt and South African Airways, and is redeemable through the calendar year 1st September 2008 - 1st September 2009.
