General Manager of Coca-Cola Jordan hands $USD 15,000 to Abdulla Abu Qura , 2007 MVP

Amman-28/05/2007--For the fourth consecutive year in the history of Sprite MVP, a Jordanian basketball star won the 'Sprite MVP 2007' contest. In addition to the respectable title Abdulla Abu Qura was awarded a USD$15.000 grand prize which was handed the by General Manager of Coca-Cola Bottling Company of  Jordan, Mr. Muhanned Al Turk, and Eng. Nabeel Abu Ata  - Secretary General of the Jordan Basketball Federation (JBF)

The heated voting process ended on the spot when Abdulla Abu Qura was announced as the 2007 MVP for received the highest score among all nominees. The score was calculated based on a combination of each player's statistics that are based on their performance throughout the league games in addition to the fans' votes, as a sign of players' popularity.

Overjoyed, Abdulla Abu Qura, 2007 MVP expressed his appreciation saying: "A big thank you to all the fans, who had confidence in me and to Sprite for this very valuable gift. I very much look forward in participate in representing Jordan in international sports events, promoting this great sport, and take an active part in my community with Sprite's and Jordan Basketball Federation's upcoming activities."

On the festive occasion Mr. Al Turk said, "We were delighted to present the 'Sprite MVP 2007' trophy and prize for the fourth time to our new star Abdulla Abu Qura. We thank all the other nominees who participated and gave their best to promote the Sprite MVP competition and the basketball game. We also thank all the fans who took the time to vote for their favorite players. Last but not least, we thank our partner, the Jordan Basketball Federation for its continuous commitment to developing the basketball sport in Jordan."

Secretary General of the Jordan Basketball Federation (JBF), Eng. Nabil Abu Ata voiced his appreciation to the media, who played an integral part in promoting this year's contest, and to all those that made this year's copetition a success. Sprite will celebrate this announcement on June 2nd, 2007 at the Sheraton Hotel in the presence of JBF, the Sports Photographer Committee, and the eight nominees who took part in the game on
