ABB Ability™ Digital Powertrain monitoring services provide advanced analytics and maintenance planning to ensure the efficient operation of powertrain equipment, including drives, motors, bearings and pumps

As part of its market introduction, ABB Ability™ Digital Powertrain suite of digital solutions will be demonstrated during Wetex Dubai, the region’s largest Sustainability & Renewable Technology Exhibition, which takes place between October 21st – 23rd, 2019 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Over the course of 3 days, ABB will showcase all aspects of Digital Powertrain Monitoring services, introducing this new technology into the UAE market. The Digital Powertrain includes smart sensors, software and services that enable users to digitally “see” operational variables through an integrated, one-stop portal.  Data insights gained enable plant managers to be better connected with their assets, make more informed decisions, and prevent unplanned stoppages.

“WETEX gives us a great opportunity in ABB Motion to show customers our pioneer digital technology and application-specific solutions for Motors and Drives that help them be more efficient, productive and save energy,” says Ahmed Radwan, Motion Lead Business Manager, Middle East & Africa.

“We are also pleased to lead the journey to the future in the digital space with our existing ‘Drives Remote Service Center’ in Dubai that offers remote assistance and services to customers. Our offering fits perfectly with the UAE’s plans to drive forward towards a digital transformation and supports the Smarter Dubai Initiative.”

One of the key challenges in the water industry today is leakage, ABB Motion has helped water customers globally to reduce leakage, through pressure control approaches and eliminating water hammer.

Additionally, a significant amount of energy savings can be achieved, with our ABB’s Digital Ability Platform, remote assistance and condition monitoring become a reality, enabling customers to be early alerted to proactively take necessary measures to avoid unplanned stoppages.

“Our strong presence in the UAE and across the Middle East and Africa helps ABB Motion be located close to the customers. While the UAE has over the years reduced water leakage and fares much better with the use of technology for water distribution – there are still vast improvements that can be done with ABB technology. With our extended coverage and best in class service network, we are uniquely positioned to support our customers overcome challenges operating conditions. Our comprehensive service portfolio is perfectly aligned to all customer needs through the entire lifecycle of the equipment enabling them to extend their asset lifetime and optimize operation costs,” added Radwan.

At WETEX, ABB will offer interactive sessions tackling topics such as choosing “Right Product for Right Application”, “ABB Ability™ Smart Sensor” and “Variable Speed Drives in Water applications”.
