Doha, 10 July, 2013:Under the framework of partnership with the Ministry of Labor and its commitment to nurture local talents and develop human capabilities, and as a result of the effective participation at the Qatar Career Fair, Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail), has welcomed the first batch of Qatari fresh graduates into the company.  The new joiners of Qatari national graduates increase the percentage to reach 32%of the total staffs in the company.

The Qatarisation drive at Qatar Rail has reaped positive results, and numbers are expected to continue rising due to the company's successful sponsorship and internship efforts. The organization is constantly seeking to hire bright nationals, from entry-level graduates to senior level professionals.

Meshal Abdulla Al Obeidan, Executive Director of Administration of Qatar Rail.

The new recruits went through a 5day orientation program before joining the company. The orientation programwas tailor-made to provide these fresh graduates with a comprehensive information and knowledgeabout all the aspects of work flow at Qatar Rail.  This included a presentation and interaction with different key departments at Qatar Rail, a site visit to Lusail site and finally presenting to them thelatest informative Qatar Rail documentary.

The new Qatari nationals joined Qatar Rail at the Architecture Department, Mechanical Engineering, Network Engineering, System Administration and Communications Engineering.

"As Qatar is rapidly growing in so many arenas, it is important that young Qataris are involved into challenging fields and understand how to run mega projects, and Qatar Rail is a great place to have such experience," added Al Obeidan.

Mr. AlObeidan further noted, "Qatar Rail is committed to ensuring that all opportunities are available for our people, for them to continue to find purpose and fulfillment in pursuing their career aspirations and contribute in achieving Qatar Rail's shared vision."
