Thai hospitality emerges at the Concierge Competition 2010
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - The gentlemen of Dusit Thani Dubai brought pride to Dusit International's flagship property in the Middle East during the recently concluded Concierge Competition 2010. Arnulfo Guinto, Assistant Chief Concierge, was awarded First Class Customer Care (right in image). Mohammed 'Shamim' Udin(left), on the other hand, received the Outstanding Knowledge on Culture & Heritage Award. The Concierge Team, lead by the Chief Concierge Amir Hossain, successfully participated during the competition proper organized by the award-giving body. Hossain is a member of Les Clefs d'Or - U.I.C.H.

The winning participants were announced by The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) at the Club House Terrace of the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht club last 13 November 2010. 44 teams comprised of customer-service professionals from 5-star hotels all over Dubai competed for various categories.
The competition is running on its ninth year. The awards were presented after six months of meticulous deliberation process that includes numerous hotel and website visits from mystery shoppers. Scores were given based on various attitudes and related skills. Mystery guest reports, role plays, quiz competition with buzzer rounds and individual presentations made up the entire Concierge Competition 2010.
Tests on general information about Dubai as a tourist destination, essential guest-related information and customer-related issues were the focal points of the exercise.
The awards ceremony was attended by notable personalities from the hospitality industry in Dubai lead by Ibrahim Yaqoot, Executive Director, Corporate Support, DTCM.- Ends -
