Alfa and VIAMOBILE successfully complete the first test on the "Smart Park"service

Beirut, May 2012:

A team from Alfa, the first Lebanese mobile network managed by Orascom Telecom, and VIAMOBILE successfully completed on April 27, 2012 the first test on the Smart Park service that allows users to pay their parking meter fee at the edges of the road by SMS. The test was successfully conducted for the first time in the Achrafieh - Sassine area.


The Smart Park service that will soon become operational in Lebanonis the ideal solution to make life easier for citizens who are holders of mobile phones allowing them to save time in their daily lives. Thanks to this service, individuals can pay their on-street parking meters feeby sending an SMS through their mobile phones to a short code that will be assigned for this purpose.

It should be noted that once the Smart Park service is launched, each parking meter will hold written instructions to help the user follow the necessary steps to pay his parking fees, according to a very fast and easy procedure.
