Concluding the Dubai Chamber Sustainability Week, the Sustainability Fair and Waste Management Campaign engaged families in a fun and interactive way

Dubai, UAE: Coming as part of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry's 50th anniversary celebrations, the Dubai Chamber Centre for Responsible Business organised Sustainability Fair in collaboration with Muse Dubai and the support of Desert Group, was attended by over 700 people at the Dubai Garden Centre on Friday.

Designed to educate people of all ages and backgrounds on sustainable living, the Sustainability Fair featured a unique range of vendors and had interactive, family-oriented activities and informative displays as the Dubai community got the opportunity to learn more about different elements of corporate social responsibility and sustainability in the UAE.

Attendees also got the chance to examine how they can incorporate sustainability into their everyday life as the fair offered a fitting platform for local and international businesses to display their eco-friendly, socially or environmentally responsible brands to a discerning audience comprising of all age groups. 

The interactive, fun and family-oriented fair with different activities for adults and children, had live entertainment and featured art making, hula-hoop dancing, gardening and pottery making sessions. The fair also had free check-ups for women during this Breast Cancer Awareness Month as well as basic health check-ups for everyone. Also, short films highlighting sustainability issues were screened to raise awareness on important sustainability challenges and solutions.

The participating vendors were represented by Bye Bye Rascal, Al Noor Centre, Enable, Manzil, The Camel Soap Shop, Toms Shoes, Tim Hortons, Future Fashion, Wild Wood, Ideyna, International Modern Hospital, GuavaPass, Pink Caravan, Rose Leaf Café, The Change initiative, Friends of Cancer Patients, SNF, Dubai Drums, Munchbox, Wood Culture, Vitamins and Vinyl, Baembu, Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, Ayam Africa, Core Fitness, Flow Ground, Organic Food and Café and Green Gift Concepts.

Also held as part of Dubai Chamber Sustainability Week was the Waste Management Campaign entitled 'ACT TO SUSTAIN' on October 22-23, at the Al Ghurair Centre and Oasis Centre.

This campaign was organised by the members of the Dubai Chamber Sustainability Network Waste Management and Resource Efficiency Task Group and included Al Ghurair, Landmark Group, Apparel Group, Dulsco, Cummins Middle East, Eros Group, Blossom Nursery, Consolidated Contractors International Company S.A.L, Al Rostamani Pegel, Intercoil and Farnek.

The campaign focused on educating and raising awareness on the importance of waste management especially the 3 R's of reduce, reuse and recycle. Company volunteers ran different games and activities for children and families at the two malls.

The Sustainability Fair and the Waste Management Campaign concluded the Dubai Chamber Sustainability Week, a week-long collaborative effort from the Dubai Chamber's Centre for Responsible Business, its business members and community partners to bring together people from all parts of society to engage and collaborate to make a change in the UAE.
