Dec. 4, 2012, Dubai, UAE

HCT-Dubai, Women's Campus, held recently its annual bazaar and once again it proved to be a success for all involved. The event, held over three days open to families and friends of students, showcased some thirty-eight businesses from Year 2 Bachelor groups. Booths were set up outdoors in designated villages around the campus.

The aim of the bazaar was for business students to put into practice those theories studied throughout the term related to the innovation and entrepreneurship course. Students gathered valuable first-hand experience at planning and then subsequently running a profit-turning operation over the three days. The initial planning stage included a market research and feasibility study.

Businesses ranged from restaurants to clothing, accessories and games and showcased students' talents and creativity. Ethical conduct and concern for the environment was considered by all with prizes being awarded for the best booth and the booth offering the best customer service.

Shankar Subramani, Chair of Years 1 and 2 of the Business Department stated, "The Bazaar is an excellent opportunity for the students to showcase their talents to run an entrepreneurial project and at the same time having great fun. It is also an outstanding exemplar of the 'learning by doing' philosophy that HCT-Dubai espouses by connecting the concepts in their Innovation and Entrepreneurship course to their businesses."
