Fashion Folio, a 2-day trend-setting event to showcase creations from Indian and Pakistani fashion houses
Dubai, 21st November 2006: In a display of creations by more than 20 bright fashion designers from the Indian sub-continent, Fashion Folio is set to create a first on Dubai's landscape by not just showcasing a range of inspirations and emerging fashion themes but also enabling the guests and visitors to take them home. An exhibition cum sale to be held at 6th and 7th December at Hayya Club at Emirates Hills Dubai, Fashion Folio is the brainchild of Smita and Kalpana.
"Fashion Folio is the ideal medium for designers to showcase their work to Dubai's fashion conscious," said Smita. "We wanted to create a platform where they can not only display their work but also offer it for sale," added Kalpana. The two ladies have organized several other fashion events in the past and are now in the process of creating a property that can regularly give boost to both well-known designers and fresh faces on the fashion scene.
Fashion Folio will showcase creations by Aki Narula, Neeyati, Priya Dewnany, award winning Pakistani designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin and Leena Taneja, amongst others. The exhibition will include couture, prt and fusion lines, Arabian-inspired apparel, jewelry footwear and accessories such as handbags and shawls.
