Sharjah, Wednesday, January 11, 2012--The Achievement Academy Outreach Program at American University of Sharjah (AUS) held a certificate ceremony for the Directorate of Human Resources (Government of Sharjah) staff today, January 11. The participants completed the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources Business English Program at AUS in Spring 2011.
The Directorate of Human Resources (DHR) of the Government of Sharjah and AUS signed a Memorandum of Understanding on January 16, 2011 as part of the university's mission to engage with organizations in the emirate. The purpose of the MOU is to provide a framework of cooperation and facilitate collaboration between the institutions.
In all, Sharjah government 104 participants completed the 40-hour program of Business English at different levels: basic, elementary, pre-intermediate and intermediate.
Speaking at the event, Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources (DHR), said, "We are very satisfied with the quality of service proved by AUS. A majority of our students attended 85 percent of the classes and 16 Certificates of Distinction were awarded to outstanding participants. We look forward to future collaborations with AUS."
Ali Shuhaimy, Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management, expressed his pleasure at the success of the program. "We consider this a major accomplishment for the Outreach Program. We have met our strategic goal through this collaboration and we believe that this partnership will pave the way for more interaction with the local society, allowing our institution to share its experience and knowledge."
The partnership between AUS and DHR underlines the university's commitment toward professional development and augurs well for further cooperation between AUS and government entities.
