CHICAGO- Early estimates indicate a severe windstorm last week seriously damaged or destroyed more than 57 million bushels of commercial grain storage in Iowa ahead of the autumn harvest, the state's agriculture department said on Tuesday.
The derecho storm on Aug. 10 crumpled steel storage bins, flattened corn fields, caused widespread damage in towns and left thousands of people without power.
