UAE -  Today is the first day of holy month of Ramadan. Even as citizens and residents #StayHome, they can host an iftar with family and relatives of up to five people, the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management said.

In an interactive Q&A about new rules and regulations posted on Government of Dubai Media Office twitter platform, people are recommended not to call friends home for iftar.

"Best if you can avoid it, but you're only allowed family and relatives of up to five people."

Other information revealed in the video post is about national sterilisation programme being from 10 pm until 6 am. Wearing of masks is still mandatory but glove is optional.

"You will be fined Dh1,000 if you don't wear a mask. It can be medical or any other kind."

Dubai Metro is operational from 7 am till 11 pm. Buses and taxis will operate as normal.

"You can go to supermarket and you can visit shopping malls."

Cafes open; you can take dog out

So, cafes are open?

"Customers are allowed to dine-in at a maximum of 30 per cent of the café's capacity. But no shisha or buffets."

What about office?

"Employees should not exceed 30 per cent of the total workforce on site and for a maximum of six hours per day only."

People can now enjoy their morning runs outdoors as long as it's not in group and in the neighbourhood.

Can I go with just one friend?

"If that's your dog, sure. You can go alone too or with three family members only for 1-2 hours per day."

All such measures coincide with the start of Ramadan and aims to allow more freedom of movement, while ensuring strict precautionary and preventive measures against Covid-19 are still in place.
