Muscat: Indian students looking to pursue their higher studies in Oman can apply for scholarships being funded by the Ministry of Higher Education.

Applications for these scholarships will be handled by the Indian Embassy in Muscat. Two of these scholarships are for Indian students living in Oman who wish to continue their higher studies in the country, while two scholarships are for Indian students who reside outside Oman but are looking to do their higher studies in the Sultanate.

A statement from the embassy said: “The Ministry of Higher Education in Oman is offering two scholarships for Indian students residing in Oman, and two scholarships for Indian students residing outside Oman for pursuing higher studies in Oman during the academic year 2019-2020, under the Omani Programme for Cultural and Scientific Cooperation.

“The scholarship covers BA, BSc, BCom and BTech, but not MBBS,” added the Indian Embassy. “Students selected for scholarships will be given scholarship are admission in particular institutes. While the applicants may express preferences for particular courses/institutes as given in the application form, it is not guaranteed that scholarship admission will be given in the same institute.”
