Precautionary measures have been implemented at Ramez Group stores across Bahrain to ensure the safety of clients and employees against the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19).

The hypermarket recently set up special committees to monitor the daily safety and cleanliness measures at its offices and branches, it said in a statement yesterday. Fingerprinting employees has been replaced with an eye scanner to ensure all staff and surfaces remain safe and clean. The group also distributed 40,000 free respirators.

“Ramez Group disinfects all shopping carts and surfaces at all times, and wraps shopping carts grips with plastic as a new procedure,” said the statement. “We are also distributing awareness posters in our offices and branches, and imposing a one-metre social distancing between customers in a queue at the cashiers’ desks.” Group chairman Ramez Al Awadi said the main aim of the exercise was to help the national efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19.
