ArabFinance: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) directed all local banks to inform their tourism sector clients of the support initiatives, in order for businesses to benefit more, according to an official circular.

The financial institutions are also requested to answer the clients’ inquiries through hotlines, the CBE said.

Banks’ employees have to be fully aware of the CBE’s support initiatives, the statement added.

A monthly report should be sent to the CBE to present the cases banks have rejected to lend under the existing initiatives.

The state financial entity recently decided to extend the tourism initiative until December 31st 2021.
