Bahrain Polytechnic has launched online learning platforms for its students during the additional two-week suspension of classes for public and private universities, schools and preschools as a precautionary measure to combat Covid-19.
It is in line with directives of the Executive Committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
Bahrain Polytechnic board of trustees held a meeting last Monday and agreed to switch to virtual learning platforms to ensure the continuation of lessons during the suspension.
The University of Bahrain has also announced that lessons would be uploaded on its online learning platform for students to benefit from during the suspension period.
University president Dr Riyadh Youssef Hamza said that the platform (Blackboard), which dates back more than 10 years, enables students to benefit from the uploaded material and interact online with professors.
“The initiative aims to meet the goals of the academic year and reduce the impact of the temporary suspension of classes on students.”
