KUWAIT CITY: The inspection teams of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry raided a warehouse containing 169,000 medical masks, and sealed it, reports Al Qabas.

The Ministry inspection monitored the inspection work and large quantity of of masks were seized. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has closed 14 new pharmacies who did not comply with the ministerial decision to set the prices of selling medical masks, the total number of pharmacies that are closed for the same reasons have reached to 19 so far.

In a press statement sources said that the inspection teams of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection sector received 205 calls to the hotline (135) sources added that the closure of these pharmacies came because they sell some medical supplies at inflated prices, and their lack of commitment to the Ministry’s decisions taking advantage of the current conditions with government precautions to prevent corona virus.

Minister Al-Roudan issued a ministerial decision based on a letter from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health regarding setting prices for selling medical respirators, with prices ranging from 100 fils to 1.320 Kuwaiti dinars.
