Ras Al Khaimah Police arrested a man accused of murdering an Arab worker within 24 hours of the crime being committed.
The worker's body was sent to forensics, after all necessary procedures, to determine the cause of death.
Brigadier Abdullah Ali Menakhas, director of,criminal investigation department (CID) of RAK Police said that the forensic medical report showed that the man had been murdered.
Hence, a team was formed by the Head of Investigation, the Criminal Investigation Department and the Acting Director of the Violence Crimes Department to find the murderer.
After intense investigations, the team found the murder suspect - the victim's compatriot and roommate
Investigations found that they often fought. During interrogation, the accused confessed to killing his roommate, adding that he had killed him by hitting him with a cutting tool on the head while he was sleeping.
Additionally, the accused poured poison inside the victim's mouth to make it look like a suicide.
The case was submitted to the court, Menakhas noted.
