Ambassador Carlos D. Sorreta, head of the Philippine Mission to the Russian Federation, warned Filipinos planning to avail of the e-visa as it only covers two destinations - St. Petersburg and the Kaliningrad Enclave.
According to reports in TFT, Sorreta stressed in a memo that those who use these entry points to visit other places in Russia, could face dire consequences. "The Embassy reminds Filipinos who would avail the Russian e-visa to these tourist places to fully understand that there are strict limitations that must be followed," the ambassador said.
Stressing the e-visa excludes all other parts of Russia, Sorreta added, "This means if you entered, for example, in St. Petersburg, you must exit Russia only through St. Petersburg with no connecting flights within Russia."
The Philippines is among the 53 countries who can now visit St. Petersburg and other nearby locations in the Leningrad Region with a free e-visa, starting October.
