Cairo – The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that the limit on cash allowed to be carried by travellers in and out of the country has been fixed at EGP 5,000.

This decision comes in line with the new CBE and banking law no 194 of 2020 which grants the CBE’s board of directors the authority to determine the maximum limit on cash allowed to be carried from and into Egypt, according to a statement late on Wednesday.
