Egypt -The Trade and Industry Ministry has postponed reducing import tariffs imposed on steel rebar and iron billets for a six-month period, according to an official document released on April 11th.

The period starts from April 11th until October 11th of this year, the document added.

In October 2019, the ministry has re-imposed customs tariffs of 25% on steel rebar and 16% on iron billets for three years.

However, this is still challenged as an administrative court has postponed its ruling to May 23rd on an appeal by steel rolling mills to overturn a government’s decision to place such import tariffs.
