Riyadh –   Small businesses constitute 97.6% of the Saudi private sector entities with a total of 1.5 million small, data by the Saudi Ministry of Labor and Social Development showed.

Meanwhile, the number of medium-sized enterprises in Saudi Arabia amount to 31,330 or 2% of the total private sector working entities.

Large companies represent 0.3% of the private sector with a total number of 4,120 entities, while mega entities make up only 0.1% of the sector with 1,239 enterprises.

The wholesale and retail sector accounts for 34.3% of the small businesses, while 21.2% are in the building and construction field.

Around 14.5% of small business are in the transportation and storage industry, while social and personal services make up for 14.1% of the total, with the other fields sharing the remaining 16%.
