Muscat: More than 71,000 teachers were present in the Sultanate during the academic year 2019/2020, the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), indicated.
A statement issued online by the NCSI said: "The total number of teachers in the Sultanate's schools reached 71,469 during the academic year 2019/2020. The average number of students per teacher is 12."
