Muscat: Qais Mohammed Al-Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Tharaka Balasuriya, State Minister of Regional Cooperation in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, reviewed the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries and means of promoting trade and economic cooperation.

The virtual meeting discussed matters of common interest. It also reviewed means of enhancing cooperation in trade and investment spheres.

The meeting suggested establishing a direct sea line through the ports of the two countries to directly export and import goods.

The meeting also touched on the potential of setting up Sri Lankan industries in the Sultanate in a bid to benefit from Oman’s location and the free trade agreements it has with a number of countries in the world.
