Dubai: Emirates airline and Etihad Airways have cancelled their flights to Hong Kong due to safety risks posed by Typhoon Mangkhut.

Both carriers stated that flights to the Philippines and China may undergo some delays in the coming period.

“Customers are advised to check their flight status and to ensure their contact details are correct by visiting ‘Manage Your Booking’ to receive the latest updates,” Emirates said.

Considered the strongest storm of 2018, Typhoon Mangkhut is hitting Guangdong, China's most populous province, causing immense damages.
