Riyadh: The General Council of the World Trade Organization (WTO) approved the presidency of the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative Saqer bin Abdullah Al-Moqbel of the Geneva-based organization’s Trade Policy Review Body (TPRB) for one year (2023-2024), to be the first Arab permanent representative ever to hold such position.

The TPRB works on enhancing integrity in national trade policies assessment for the member states through certain review mechanisms according to the size of the economy of each WTO’s member.

The Kingdom’s presidency of the TPRB reaffirms its leading roles within the WTO and other global organizations.
