Amman - The government Sunday reduced the prices of oil derivatives by about 4 per cent, but kept unchanged the price of a cooking gas cylinder, according to a decision announced by Deputy Premier for Economic Affairs, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Jawad Anani.

The decision was taken by the government's pricing committee under the monthly review of fuel prices amid falling global oil prices.

The committee set the price of unleaded 90-octane gasoline at JD0.55 per litre for August, down from the July price of JD0.58, while unleaded 95-octane gasoline will be sold at JD0.72 per litre, instead of JD0.745 and diesel and kerosene was priced at JD0.425 per litre, down from JD0.440.

The price of a cooking gas cylinder was fixed at JD7, according to the amendment, which will be effective Monday.
