Cairo – Egypt has exported goods worth $1.11 billion to the Nile Basin countries during the first nine months of 2021, according to official data.

This marked a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 33.7% from $835 million in January-September 2020.

Imports from the Nile Basin countries to Egypt also soared by 12.4% YoY to $497 million in the first nine months of 2021 from $442 million.

The value of trade exchange between Egypt and the Nile Basin countries grew by 26.3% YoY in January-September 2021, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

It is worth noting that the trade exchange between Egypt and the African Union (AU) surged by 35.7% YoY during the first nine months of 2021
