ALGIERS- Algeria's annual inflation fell to 4.5 percent in October from 4.7 percent the previous month due to a slight decline in the price of some foodstuffs, official data showed on Wednesday.

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index was down 1.2 percent in October, according to data released by the National Statistics Bureau.

Prices for manufactured goods declined 0.3 percent, while the cost of most other foodstuffs rose 0.1 percent.

Algeria has been trying to boost domestic output and reduce imports in a bid to ease financial pressure caused by lower energy earnings, the main source of state finances.
