BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Yemen will offer 20 investment opportunities to international and Arab companies that will participate in the third conference for oil, gas and minerals which will take place in Sana'a, the Yemeni capital on Oct. 18 and Oct.19, pan-Arab Al Hayat daily reports Monday citing a Yemeni official.

A number of international oil companies are seeking to invest in the country's petrochemical sector especially in refining, fertilizers, and plastics projects and they have submitted requests to the Yemeni ministry of oil and minerals for this purpose, Abdul Qawi Al Udaini director general for oil and minerals information at the ministry, told the paper.

The international firm Shell has expressed interest in investing in the development of Yemen's gas and oil sector, he added.
