Abu Dhabi United Bank Limited made it four-out-of four to top their group and advance to the last eight in the UBL Cup Twenty20 tournament after a five-wicket victory over Tyger at the Zayed stadium.
Ahmad Raza bagged four for 22 from his four overs, and Abdul Rahman (43) and Amjad Ali (41 not out) chipped in with useful contributions with the bat.
Tyger also qualified behind them after three wins and a defeat in the Group B, according to an ADCC press release.
Abdul Rahman, the one-drop batsman, hit a couple of fours and a six in his 40-ball knock, and shared a valuable 64-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Ali, the wicket-keeper batsman, who struck three boundaries in his 39-ball stay.
Umair Qadir had earlier anchored Tyger’s inning with a top score of 63 not out.
The middle order batsman hit eight fours and faced 50 deliveries to take his team’s total to 126 for eight. Qadir shared a 37-run stand for the fifth wicket with Bilal Khan, who chipped in with a useful 22, to take their score from 52 for five to 89 before Raza struck. UBL and Tyger join Perth Salt Valley, the first team to complete their group matches unbeaten, in the quarter finals.
