Dubai: Abdullah Al Attar of the UAE beat Pakistan's Ali Haider in the ANC Shaikh Rashid UAE Open snooker tournament at Dubai Snooker Club.

The first four frames in the encounter were shared by both players.

Al Attar won the deciding frame by a margin of 48 points to book his place in the fourth round.

Salim Bin Dheeban, knocking on the door of the UAE team, overcame Ifran Attarwala for the loss of only one frame.

He is pitted against No.13 seed Eisa Al Hindi in the fourth round, over the best of seven frames.

The UAE singles champion Eisa Sayyid won the first match played in the fourth round.

He beat compatriot Mohammad Tariq Ali 4-1.

Although no high breaks were scored, Eisa performed solidly enough in an attempt to improve his ranking to No.3, his last year's ranking.

Matches are played at 6.30pm daily in Al Karama's Dubai Snooker Club.
