DUBAI Japanese electronics giant Sharp yesterday announced a distribution deal with Al Sayegh Brothers Trading (ASBT) for its new LCD monitor range in the UAE.

Managing director Yoshkazu Saeki said consumer demand might be slack due to the ongoing conflict in the region, but demand for products with novel features showed no sign of slowing down. Sharp has the largest warehouse facility of any Japanese electronics company in Jebel Ali Free Zone. Its 15-20 inch LCD monitors offer low glare, a wide viewing angle and low power consumption.

ASBT have exclusive UAE franchise rights for the some of the world's leading brands from Japan, USA, and South Korea. The major
consumer electronics brands it represents include LG, Olympus, Aiwa & Daewoo.

Under ASBT's agreement with Sharp Middle East, it will distribute TFT LCD display monitors in the UAE and other countries in the region. "With the addition of Sharp TFT LCD monitors in our  current product line, Al Sayegh Brothers   will emerge as the leading company engaged in the business of Digital Display Devices," said Abdul Jabbar Al Sayegh, chairman of Al Sayegh Group. "The product strength of Sharp and the local business knowledge of our company will make an  impact in the industry," he added at a Press conference.
