KASBAH (TAP) - Two new cases will be brought against former President Ben Ali, his son-in-law Sakhr Materi and his daughter Nessrine Ben Ali, next July 21.These two cases, to be brought before the Tunis Court of First Instance, are about an official's abusive use of a position to benefit, together with another individual, from advantages, harming thus the administration or breaking regulations, Justice Ministry delegate Mohamed Askri said, on Thursday, during the regular briefing meeting held at El Kasbah.

The first case relates to illegal purchase of a land plot from the "El Bouhayra" company for the benefit of Sakhr Materi and Nessrine Ben Ali's "Les hirondelles" company. This land plot was then resold making profits estimated at 18 million dinars.

The second case deals with the changing status of a 4.4-hectare land plot of a green-zone category for the benefit of Sakhr Materi's "La Pierre immobilière" company.

Mr. Askri explained that the trials would impact positively on reactivation of the international warrant for the arrest of the accused.
