ANKARA- Turkey will issue gold-backed bonds and sukuk starting from October 2, the treasury said in a statement on Wednesday, to attract into the economy gold savings held by households.

The maturity of the bond and sukuk will be 728 days, with a 6-month interest of 1.20 percent, index-linked to gold prices, the treasury said in a statement.
