RIYADH — Minister of Transport and Logistics Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser said that Saudi Arabia aims to increase the number of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to more than 30 million and tourists to more than 100 million in a year. “This is part of achieving the ambitious goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030,” he said while speaking at a dialogue session at the Saudi-European Investment Forum in Riyadh on Monday.

Al-Jasser said that Saudi Arabia will make investments to the tune of SR1.6 trillion during the next ten years through partnerships with the private sector and a number of countries. Saudi Arabia’s focus at present is to provide quality life, and interconnecting services for individuals, without repeating any traditional or impractical models.

The minister stressed that the level of Saudi ambitions is very high, and it has high capabilities in addition to competitive national cadres. “We have developed two important aviation centers and support citizens’ needs, in addition to linking the Kingdom with countries around the world through 250 tourist destinations,” he pointed out.

The forum reviews joint investment opportunities between Saudi Arabia and European Union countries in various fields, including transport and logistics services. It also aims to encourage investment, enhance relations and economic integration, apart from facilitating the exchange of knowledge.
