Digital transformation can ‘achieve carbon neutrality’ for Bahrain

Bahrain - Accelerating digital transformation in Bahrain can contribute to confronting climate change and reaching carbon neutrality in 2060, Yaqoob Al Awadhi, CEO of NGN International, a Bahraini IT Systems Integrator, has said.

He pointed to the progress made by major industrial companies specifically in the field of adopting 'green technology' and preserving the environment and promoting sustainable development.

In a statement on the sidelines of his participation at the Middle East Sustainability Forum, Al-Awadhi pointed out that NGN International helps its corporate and private sector customers strengthen their commitment to environmental and climate issues, by integrating information technology into operations efficiently, using smart and saving energy and reducing waste.

This is in addition to boosting competitiveness in the field of green technology on the international stage, and working to ensure sustainable development and protect the environment for future generations.”

Al Awadhi stated that according to the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI), ICT has the potential to improve environmental governance, and safety, and reduce environmental risks to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2030. Furthermore, he outlined how the process of creating green technology applications is one of the most crucial pillars of global efforts to combat climate change.
