ABU DHABI, 14 May, 05 (WAM) - Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company(Takreer) and Dodsal Ltd signed an agreement for the executionof Dh1.47 billion worth Inter Refinery Pipelines (IRP) Project.

Takreer awarded the project to Dodsal as a single EPC contracton a lump sum turnkey basis for a value of Dh1.47 billion. Thisprestigious project is being implemented to optimised the interrefineries operations between Abu Dhabi and Ruwais Refineriesand will eliminate shipment of oil product by sea which willenhance the environment and the growth of infrastructure of AbuDhabi. This project will also address the increased product requirementsat the Abu Dhabi International Airport and Al Ain,according to reports in the UAE's dailies.

The $399 million project is scheduled to be completed by endof 2007. The project scope includes state of the art instrumentationand control, telecom, supervisory control systems, storage facilitiesand pipelines which will be in the line with the best availabletechnology in the world today.

In terms of construction, the project includes 5.3 million cubicmeters of earth filling works, 9 RCC buildings, 12 structuralbuildings and over 10,000 tonnes of steel works related to storagetanks.

The project kick-off meeting was held last month and detailedengineering activities have commenced.

Dodsal, a company headquartered in the UAE, undertakes developmentengineering and construction works around the world on EPC basisas well as large scale multidiscipline construction projectsfor the energy and infrastructure sectors.

IRP contract takes Dodsal's order book to Dh2.9 billion withan additional Dh2.6 billion of orders expected in the near future.
