DOHA - Kuwait United Company for Restaurants Management & Catering " KURM", a company specialising in the food sector, casual dining, and the owner of Shrimpy and Black & White chain of restaurants, has granted Al Haider Food Stuffs, a subsidiary of the influential real estate Suliman & Brothers Group in Qatar, franchise rights to open Shrimpy and Black & White outlets in Qatar.
The award of the franchise was announced in Kuwait at a press conference held at KURM premises yesterday. KURM is a subsidiary of Dana Safat food Stuff Company which is owned by Safat Investment Group.
Bader Al Failakawi, KURM's Chairman, Nassib Wanna, KURM's General Manager, Abdullah Suliman Al Haider and Falah S Al Haider, Board Members, attended the press meet.
Al Failakawi said: "The step comes in line with our strategy targeting expansion throughout the region and outside it to cope with the rapid growth being witnessed by Shrimpy Chains in the Middle East. The initiative aims to enhance Shrimpy's presence and brand on the one hand, and launch Black & White on the other.
Abdullah Al Haider stressed the importance of the cooperation between the two companies. He expressed his contentment with the initiative which will be followed by further steps targeting the opening of a minimum of five Shrimpy branches in Qatar. He also praised Black & White unique concept anticipating it to have great success in Qatar.
KURM is conducting a huge expansion plan; it is contemplating to grant Shrimpy franchise rights to many Arab countries including the Maghreb States and to Europe.
Suliman & Brothers group is a leading real estate and investment company in Qatar established in 2003.
