Dubai: Shell Lubricants has signed a regional lubricants distribution agreement with Mobis Middle East (Mobis) to supply exclusive Shell Helix oil products for Hyundai car dealers and consumers in the Middle East, Africa and select countries from the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States).

Under the terms of the agreement, Mobis, spare parts distributors for Hyundai and Kia motors in the region, will benefit from a three-year deal to distribute Shell Helix HX5 AH to Hyundai dealers and consumers in key markets within the region. The new engine oil product has been co-branded with Hyundai and Shell Helix, and has been developed exclusively for Hyundai petrol and diesel engine cars.

Hyung Yong, Lee, managing director, Mobis Middle East, said: "We have always intended to develop a new product line for our Hyundai vehicles. Our global partnership with Shell lubricants has enabled us to join our efforts to produce an exclusive lubricants product line."

"With Shell Lubricants' leading position in the lub-ricants market, we are confident that the new product quality and service standards will satisfy both our requirements and those of our customers," added Lee.

Amr Adel, general manager, Shell Lubricants Middle East, Central Asia and East, said: "We are delighted with our new supply and distribution deal with Mobis in the Middle East."

The announcement comes on the back of an extension of the global lubricants agreement between Shell and Hyundai until 2015. Under the agreement, Shell will continue to provide Hyundai with both factory and service-fill lubricants. Shell and Hyundai will also collaborate on lubricants research and development and joint marketing activities across Hyundai's service network.
