MUSCAT -- Leading global electronics manufacturer Sharp has launched its new range of air-conditioners to a select audience of contractors, consultants and architects in Muscat. Sharp is keeping itself ahead of the crowd with the addition of two of its unique technologies, namely the 'All Aluminium heat-exchangers' and 'Plasmacluster Ions' into its line-up of ACs.

"The AC industry has products with very little differentiation but we promise to bring about a seismic shift thanks to the lighter and more efficient outdoor units that are now possible due to the introduction of Aluminium," said Morisaki Akito, Sr Technical Manager - Air Conditioners at Sharp Middle East FZE. "This innovation not only reduces the unit's weight by 40 per cent, it also reduces its refrigerant requirement by a staggering 50 per cent," continued Morisaki.

Sharp has been in the AC business for over fifty years, and plans to enhance its product offering to the region with the addition of these new units. Available in a multitude of configurations, Sharp offers AC products as Window Units, Split ACs, Ceiling-Mounted and Floor-Standing types.

"Sharp has always focused on improving customer's lives through its technologies, and we used this launch to showcase yet another innovation to the local and global market, which we believe tackles some of the challenges faced by the Air-Conditioning industry in the region," Morisaki added.

"The reduced weight of our ACs resulting from the all aluminium heat exchangers, means easier installation and lower cost of maintenance. The region heavily depends on air-conditioning due to the harsh climate and anyone from the HVAC industry would truly understand the overall Life Cycle Cost and Cost of Operation benefits that our technology can offer", said Eiji Taninaka, Director Sales, Sharp Middle East FZE.

Industrial outlook has shifted towards a greener and more sustainable future, requiring customers as well as manufacturers to truly focus on environmentally-friendly technologies.

"Our products have always reflected our corporate vision to becoming an Eco-Positive Company, and we believe that this product launch event was an appropriate platform to introduce our Eco-Positive AC products to the market," Taninaka added.

In addition to being environmentally responsible, Sharp's AC products also incorporate several technologies which ensure maximum comfort for customers with fast and evenly distributed cooling across the room.
Sharp plans to introduce these ACs to the Omani market through its trusted distributor and partner Oman Modern Electronics for this summer period.

Oman Modern Electronics is part of the Al Hashar Group and have been instrumental in building the Sharp brand in Oman for the last 3 decades.

The Company sells all Sharp range products through its extensive network of showrooms, dealers and all leading hypermarkets and electronic stores. This is backed by a strong after sales department which give installation and maintenance support to the world-class products from Sharp.
