SHARJAH, 12th December, 2013 (WAM)--As part of its ?Journey through History? educational discourse series, Sharjah Archaeology Museum recently hosted a lecture titled: ?Modern Education in Sharjah - early beginnings and challenges?.
The talk was presented by one of the emirate?s earliest modern education pioneers and Education Consultant at Al Diwan Al Emiri (the Royal Court) in Sharjah, Mohamed Al Mussa. During his presentation, Al Mousa discussed the early beginnings of the modern educational system in Sharjah. The lecture also outlined the turning point in education witnessed at the establishment of the UAE, which has led to the country boasting some of the best schools and universities in the Arab World today. ?Modern Education in Sharjah - early beginnings and challenges? was delivered as part of SMD?s monthly lecture series highlighting various topics of historical significance for the UAE and the region. The programme, which was launched in 2010, is aimed at raising cultural awareness for expats and visitors to the emirate, as well as experts and specialists to share various topics with the public.
