RAS AL-KHAIMAH– Vessels anchored off Ras al-Khaimah’s Saqr Port has been advised of the need to change their positions to further offshore as a result of the carrying out of an offshore marine seismic survey.

A Notice to Mariners issued yesterday by the Harbour Master of Ras al-Khaimah Ports noted that all vessels anchored within Zones III and IV of the port’s anchorage "will be required to shift their anchor position further offshore to a temporary designated anchorage in order to allow the survey vessel to undertake the survey unimpeded." All vessels have been instructed to keep well clear of the seismic survey area and to proceed at a minimum speed, with due caution, while all movements within the Port’s limits should be co-ordinated with Saqr Port and RAK Maritime City Port Control.

The survey in the Port area is expected to take up to 18 days to complete.
