MUSCAT -- Koichi Ojima Senior Executive Officer, Yoshinori Noguchi, Executive Officer, and other top officials of Hino Motors have arrived in Muscat to take part in the Middle East Regional Marketing Meeting.

Hino distributors and dealers from across the Middle East will be the delegates of the conference. This is the first time that the meeting is being held in Oman. Saud Bahwan Automotive thanked Hino Motors for choosing Muscat as the venue for this key event.

Hino Motors initially founded as Tokyo Gas Industry Co Ltd in 1910, is Japan's largest manufacturer of heavy- and medium-duty trucks in Japan.

Worldwide sales of Hino vehicles amount to about 100,000 units a year. Apart from the Asian market, Hino has a growing presence in North America and Australia as well. Hino has 3 manufacturing plants in Japan. All 3 Hino plants in Japan have secured ISO 14001 certifications as a testament of their exemplary environmental management.

Hino trucks are designed for utmost reliability and maximum performance in adverse working conditions, which make them an ideal choice as a transport solution in the GCC region. Hino's range includes tippers, water/sewage/fuel tankers, transit mixers, cargo trucks, garbage compactors, prime movers with trailers and mobile freezer units.

Hino represents the Toyota Group in the international market for heavy-duty trucks and buses. Hino plants are also involved in production of Toyota's most popular SUVs such as Prado and FJ Cruiser.

The visiting management team from Hino Motors is headed by Koichi Ojima, who had joined parent company Toyota Motor Corporation in 1974. He was at first assigned to the Latin American Division. Later he was assigned to Venezuela in 1988. He assumed responsibilities as Deputy General Manager Logistics Department in 1996 before being appointed Deputy General Manager with the No 1 overseas sales department in 1997. He went on to become General Manager, America Sales Division in 2003 and Senior Executive Officer, Hino Motors, Ltd in 2006.

His current global responsibilities cover the Asia Oceania Division, Latin America and Caribbean Division, Middle East, European and Africa Division, North America Division, China Division, BR India Division and BR Russia Division. His wide ranging functional responsibilities include the Overseas Planning Division, BR Supply Management Division and, Overseas Parts and Service Division.

Yoshinori Noguchi joined Hino Motors in 1977. After serving in the administrative and exports divisions, he became Director -- Hino Motors, Malaysia in 1984 and Assistant Manager, Overseas Sales and Marketing Division, Asia Department, in 1988. In 1996 he became Deputy General Manager, East Asia Division, Taiwan Department and in 1998 the Executive Vice-President, Hino Motors Sales (Thailand) Ltd.

In 2003 he was made General Manager, Operations Division, and in 2004, the Executive Officer, Hino Motors, Ltd. In 2006 he was appointed President, Hino Motors Sales (Thailand) Ltd and again resumed as Executive Officer, Hino Motors, Ltd, Japan in 2009.

His current responsibilities include Overseas Planning Division, BR Supply Management Division, Overseas Parts and Service Division, Service Parts Logistics Division and China Division and North America Division.

The Hino Middle East Regional Marketing Meeting will bring together Hino officials from Japan, representatives of trading companies from Japan and distributors from all over the Middle East -- including Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen and Syria.

Saud Bahwan Automotive and Hino joined hands in Oman in 2006 and since then, this winning combination has played an active role in the nation's robust economic growth. The product line ranges from capacities of 10 tonnes (GVW) to 100 tonnes (GCW).

Saud Bahwan Automotive's deep-rooted presence in Oman and their intimate knowledge of the industrial scenario have enabled Hino to cater to the ever-changing needs of today's customer.
