A short film competition celebrating the successful launch of Bahrain’s first nanosatellite, Light-1, has been kicked off by the National Space Science Agency (NSSA).

The kingdom launched its first-ever satellite last month – a joint project between the NSSA, UAE Space Agency, Khalifa University and New York University Abu Dhabi.

The nanosatellite will be used to conduct research during lightning storms that will help civil aviation safety experts in the future.

The film competition invites filmmakers and content creators to make a short educational and inspirational two-to-three-minute video about the achievement.All submissions should be sent to nssa.competition@gmail.com and the last day of submission is February 15.
