Doha: Total E&P Qatar Managing Director and Total group representative, Stephane Michel announced the Salary hike of their Qatari employees.
Based on the Emiri decree No. 50 for 2011, Total E&P Qatar the subsidiary of Total has implemented the decision to increase the basic salary and the social allowance for their Qatari employees by 60 percent effective from September 2011.
Total is one of the world's largest oil and gas companies, has a 75-year presence in Qatar, and is active in all stages of the energy industry, from upstream (oil and gas exploration and production) to downstream (refining and marketing) and petrochemicals.
Total operates the offshore Al Khaleej oil field, discovered in 1991 using highly innovative technologies to optimise the recovery. Total is also one of the founding partners of Qatargas 1, the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) project developed in Qatar.
In 2006, Total expanded its involvement in the LNG industry through Qatargas 2. In addition, Total is one of the founding partners of the Dolphin project, the largest natural gas project ever developed between three countries in the Gulf: Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
